I have a ps2 slim.. first few times it worked 100%,

but now it doesn't read anymore. and it's frustrating me.

note: It's not scratched at all, and I have a silver ps2 slim (if it matters)

and I heard something about getting the laser realigned? where would be a good to decent store to do it at?

i have the same problem as you. my silver slim ps2 brings me to the browser screen when it loads

When this happened to me, the laser ribbon cable wasn't connected to the laser. It may also be the laser dying or needing to be clean, off the top of my head. If you can get someone to fix it, it's cheaper than buying a new one. Use your warranty if you still have one.

Or try it yourself as a last resort, there is plenty of guides around. Past that, there's not a lot of information that could help you.

if its just the gameshark disc that can't be read let your ps2 load without a disc then go to version then turn diagnosis on
