Im REALLY new to this kind of thing but anyways.

I put my save file onto my USB and then went and was able to put it on my memory card via gameshark. (it was in p2m format). However when I went to my memorycard in the browser menu on the ps2 it showed the file name with and it had a gameshark symbol. Im not exactly sure how to make it so that my ps2 game can read this file.

If you need to know the file was a Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 save file.

PS: My gameshark is v1.3 broadband enabled.

The only thing I can mention is the game save file should recognized by the Game Shark if it is in P2M format. If you happened to download it from the Game Shark main site, then it could be corrupted or be for a different game version.

You could find more information in your Game Shark manual. If you don't have one, then you can find the right one here.

Just one more question. Should I use things like Ps2save-builder to get the game to work? Or UlaunchELF? Or do I just need to change the file name to .p2m?

And another thing. Most of the save files on your website are in the format .md Would it work if I saved them onto my memory card with .md file name?

You don't have to use anything. If you download it as a P2M file then move it to a USB storage device that is compatible, then insert that into your PS2. Then making sure that you have enough memory space in your PS2 memory card you can use the Game Shark to do that.

And about the .md format, you need to save them as P2M to make it recognizable by the Game Shark.

This thread shows how it should be downloaded. http://boards.gameshark.com/index.php?showtopic=17138

I got it to work by using PS2 save-builder. I changed the .P2M part using ps2 save-builder and then changed it to .ps2 in order for my PS2 to be able to read the game save file. Anyways thanks for your assistance. victory.gif
