RavenWolf
I just bought a new Gameshark (it is a name brand one)
Could anyone please help me figure out how to make the codes for the shiny pokemon work, I have tried everything I can think of.
I'm using the codes found here: http://xs.gameshark.com/xploder/xploderui....id=20908&tab=gc

I made a new game entry with the Must Be On code, and the Shiny Wild PKMN code. I have triple checked that I have everything typed correctly.

I typed in the shiny codes for pokemon Emerald and it works perfectly so I'm thinking it has to have something to do with the different versions of Fire/Leaf.

I have tried the codes for both versions neither one works. I verified that I do have Fire red version 1.1 (The preloaded codes for Fire Red 1.1 that I have tried work where the ones for 1.0 don't.) I also have Leafgreen V 1.1 and neither version code works for it either. :dunno:

Any suggestions???

The problem with Leaf Green and Fire Red is that you don't know what version you have because it is not label on the GBA Cart anywhere. This is where you need to do a test. If the code works then great, if not then try the other version. I know this because the Fire Red I once had was a mixed version (where most of the codes worked while others didn't). I too thought I had the Version 1.0 since mine came with the adapter but one 3 of the codes from the 1.0 codes worked and then I tried the other version and the rest of the codes worked other than the ones that worked from the version 1.0!

Since you said you have tried the 1.1 codes then try the 1.0 codes ;) You too may have the mixed version.

Also you should know that the GBA Hacker noticed that if the words "Game Freak" is displayed at the start screen then you have the version 1.1!

I am assuming that your using the codes from these pages:
- http://xs.gameshark.com/xploder/xploderui....b=gc&c=handheld

Please make sure that your enabling the following codes:
CODE
Shiny Wild PKMN
Max IV Points
Pokemon of your choice (ONLY choose 1, if you enable more than 1 pokemon this will cause the codes to not work and if you save it then it will cause you game errors!)

If you want to have it at level 50 or 100 then enable said codes as well. The "[M]Must be on" should self enable!

Also as a general rule always follow this:
Do not save it if the result is not what it should be!

Following that rule will help save you from restarting that game, all tho that may not be a bad thing since I have restarted my over 30 times now and have learned many things since I had the pokemon game (that is when said game was first released and yes I still do play with them from time to time) :wacko2:
