My son just got a gameshark GBA SP (by MadCatz) for his birthday. We've inserted the Pokemon Emerald game into the gameshark and inserted this into the SP. We can switch on the GS and get a list of games but the arrow is located at the top and we cannot seem to scroll down and select Emerald using the "A" key. When we let go of the D-key (after pressing down) the arrow will return to the top "Add a new code".
It seems that it does automatically find the Emerald game but then quickly moves up to the top of the list.
What's wrong? Does it need a reflash? How is this done and what would I need to accomplish this? All we have is the SP and the powercord. :cry2:
2 things can be wrong:
Choice A: All the products are not making a good connection (Sliding them will solve this). Please note when fixing this you MUST turn off your Nintendo Unit (in this case it's your GBASP).
Choice B: You found a somewhat fried unit. Exchanging it is your best option since it is still new and you should be able to an exchange. Please try choice A before trying this because I believe that is your problem! I am 95% sure that is the case here!
You could try re-flashing it but I don't see how it will help since I am 95% sure that sliding it will solve your problem. Please read my FAQ found in the following for more info:
