Make the code all the code inputs if correctly entered. The Master [M] code should be first and always on. SLUS, your game is Sony Licensed U.S Software.

If the aforementioned suggestions do not solve the problem then can you also provide details as to the nature of the problem. Specifically whether or not the game loads, whether the game experiences glitches while codes are activated, anything that can help determine other underlying problems

sionrai
I have the same problem. Here is the list of the games that dont work on v1.3

I dont know if they fixed all the other games, but Ive been checking for any updates or fixes for SOTET, and so far no go :(

Judging by your problem, I am assuming you probably are using the wrong GS version codes or possibly have a different game version (i.e. Greast Hits, 1st Edition).

Try reading one these guide to see if your problem is stated within.

That makes me kind of mad, I spent 20$ for game shark to use with this game and yet it doesn't work?...
Thats kinda stupid why would the game be on the damn thing
if I didn't work?
Its called Star ocean: until the end of time
Thats the name of the game on there
but its doesn't work....
So why did people put it on there if it wasn't going to work?
Don't you guys test it first?
Sorry, If I'm sounding rude or anything but you would think that someone would test this stuff.....

*Edit*
sorry for bad spelling was in A hurry

If you are having trouble getting the Game Shark codes to work on your said game, then you can identify what game version you have (i.e. Greatest Hits). You can also find a serial number of the game under neath the inner ring. That usually defines what version your have and if it is a new version release.

And about the codes provided on the Game Shark, yes they have been tested and are official, otherwise they would not be posted on the site. If the codes are not working for you, then try what the above statement says. There can also be chance that a digit in the code might have been entered wrong and making 100% sure it is correct can help. It takes one digit to render codes useless.

Cheat Device codes have never worked right with this game.........

So having Greatest hits copy makes the codes not work with it?

Yes because the game version you have is not the original version used to make codes from. The game version like Greatest Hits have added/removed/rearranged data blocks and the place where the codes activate in the game might have become ineffective due to that. You are still free to try the code as some or none of the code will work. If you want new codes for your said game version, then that mean a new hack for the game and new request for codes are made here.

Wow, I didn't know that..

That's fantastic, however, the post clearly illustrates the point that games that are older than one year will pretty much be passed over.

Which essentially means that our requests for the codes for the Greatest Hits version of Star Ocean will be ignored.

If all of you have been looking at the internet and the forums over the past year, you'll see that there hasn't been any progress whatsoever on this issue. However, new codes for new games are coming out on a regular basis.

In short, ladies and gentlemen, if you bought the Gameshark so that you might be able to play Star Ocean: Till The End of Time and you just happen to be an unlucky individual that bought the Greatest Hits edition, then you're screwed. Hopefully, you can return it to the store you bought it from. It is clearly obvious where their priorities lie.

Otherwise, it's a fantastic product which works with many other games. Nothing is ever perfect, or even close to being so. Suck it up or move on, eh?

In this particular case, for that to be the case they'd have had to done a re-release of the greatest hits version. If memory serves it was already a greatest hits release when it came out in the United States. The codes for the most part worked when I tested them out, the problems I ran into lie with the gameshark that's currently out having issues loading the game, and is likely the origin of current problems. The codes will work fine on the broadband enabled and media player versions of the product, but if you have the cheatcodes for playstation 2 (V1.x) version then it's another story unfortunately because the game doesn't load during the transition from gameshark to game :\

When I spoke with the official tech support member he clarified that the loading problem was in effect the cheat engine... I don't know the specifics but hopefully this clarifies a few of the ongoing issues. There are a number of games which unfortunately experience the same problems.

The disc I recently bought is V 1.3 and it IS broadband enabled [provided I go out and buy the adaptor]. Does this mean a simple connection to the internet and an update is all that is necessary to correct the issues with the cheat engine and get the game working?

When I had stated Broadband enabled I was referring to the older version 5 release. Media Player, and version 1.x, all have the same features, but the initial release with that capability was simply called "broadband enabled"

As per updating it, to my knowledge there are no updates (I'm not sure how they would be implemented either as I've never had the opportunity to use it). This thread details games with known issues similar to this one as well as provides a few more details regarding the problem. You may find it helpful as well to contact the resident tech support member (MadCatz TS) should you have any additional questions.

It's just like how no matter what you do, The World Ends With You's final boss is NOT able to be cheated. Or so I've heard.

I have the Greatest Hits version of this game, SLUS_20488. The preloaded cheats do not work, obviously. Is there an updated list of cheats compatible with the Greatest Hits version of this game? From what I've seen, no, but if someone could shed some light on this issue and action being taken to rectify the issue, I would be greatly appreciative. Just in case it needs to be known, when I select the cheats on the Gameshark and then load the SOTET disc, all that I get is an infinite black screen.

No updates are posted on the forum. Should one be available then you will find an announcement on it on the top of the main page of the forum and/or on they will create a webpage on the main site on it! This applies to all PS2 Greatest Hits version and/or special editions!

The problem is the Madcatz Gameshark v1.2 and 1.3 uses different engine, cause black screen, regardless star ocean till the end of time is greatest hits or not.
