Can you have a race on multiplayer on super smash bros. melee I don't think so,but I want some official information here.

A race? As in what contexts? Like see who can get to a point on a stage faster, or who can clear the game faster, or what?

Easy. Set a time limit and choose your people, then race to that point lol
Super smash bros? no you can't race in it. sorry.
There's not an official mode where you can race, but you can just run to and from each end of the stage on your own.
