If you guys want to know why I haven't been on its because of this game. I had a friend that loved the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind game and everyday on the bus we would share what we found the night before. It gets addicting, especially when you find all of the glitches. :D

Anyways. I just started and I am at level 4 about now. I am an Imperial Assassin born under the Shadow sign. I have about 200,000 gold and the house in the Imperial City. I haven't done much of the main quest. I still have to go to Kavatch and save the secret heir Martin, but that can wait for me to gain a few levels. I have 2 silver claymores and a complete set of steel armor, but I don't think I'll be ready.

The cities I have reached so far are pretty much all of the ones on the west side of the map. In anvil you get to stop mountain lions which are easy, a gang of seductive women, and a trio of robbers. Those are the basic missions. The robbers one was hard unless you run outside and let Hauls-Rope-Faster help you. He is pretty strong.

The mountain lions are easy. When the first one is in the basement, just equip a steel bow and arrow. That should take it out in a few hits. Then you go to the P. Inventius guy and find the clan of the mountain lions, kill them. Return to the women with the mountain lion problem and she says there is still one left in her basement. Kill that one and wait till about 10pm or 11pm and go behind her house to see Quill-Weave sneaking around. She says not to tell, but if you do you get 100 gold and a boost on your speech craft.

This game is fun. :yes2:

UPDATES (A Guide to the game):

I've found out that in this game a special class or character isn't really all that important. Bethesda didn't really make The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion a next generation game so each class and each character can pretty much do the same thing(s) except for a few minor exceptions such as the Argonians being able to breath underwater without magic and the different Great Powers assigned to each class. You can pretty much gain all of the same effects with careful planning and the right magic items. Your character being balanced and or perfect, like mine, just depends on your knowledge of the game and previous play throughs. The game is nor more dependent on what you choose than your ability to make good with what you have. Every character is a good archer if know how to make them such. It not like really life and all this game is is data and the bonus the wood elf gives for archery doesn't help you. It actually hurts you and makes it so you can't gain as many levels or as much health, etc. Thats why I choose the Imperial because archery is a great major skill to have.

Few tips (without Shivering Isles Patch):
Random Items- Before you enter a room, lets say the Sigillium Sangus at the top of an Oblivion Tower, save. Enter that room and look at all the stuff. Reload the game you just saved and do the same things. There should be different stuff this time around. Use this to your advantage to get good items, like I got 100% frost, fire and shock rings.
Sigil Stones- Save before you take a sigil stone. Take the sigil stone. If you do not like or need the one you got reload to before you took the sigil stone. Take the sigil stone and it may or may not be different. This is very useful. On certain missions like Kvatch and the Cheydinhal Gate you can gain the sigil stone 3-4 times by constantly clicking on it until you are about to leave the Oblivion Relm.
Duplication- To duplicate Sigil Stones and items to sell for money before Dorian. This can help you get a 4 piece Chameleon armor set with room to spare for other enchantments.
Dorian- Once you get up to a good level like lv35-lv40 go to Dorian's House in the Talos District of the Imperial City. Kill him and constantly hit the A button on his money. It will not run out until his body leaves the game or until you get the patch. Warning, this will count as a murder so if you do not feel like getting a visit from the Dark Brotherhood then you can just play the disposition mini-game until he attacks you. I got over 6,000,000 gold by doing this.
Lord Hermeus Mora- This Deadric Lord can only be accessed once you have completed all other deadric quests. After completing this quest you are given a book that you can read three different sections on. My stats are well balanced so I got to gain 2 levels by reading the path of steel and since my skills were already at 100 I got to surpass the limit.
Everscamp Staff- In Leyawiin go to Rosentia Golanthia's (Not sure about the spelling there) house and you can use the infinite amount of scamps as training. Helps with armor abilities and blocking and weapons, etc. Do not, however, accept the staff from the woman.
Oblivion Gates- These are the best places to get the best stuff. Don't defeat Mehrunes Dagon till you know you have everything you need from them.
Chameleon Armor- This comes in handy when doing the Dark Brotherhood missions and getting past other missions and areas easily. Remember, the best way to get this is using a chameleon sigil stone(s) and applying it to deadric armor set.
Enchanted Items- Try to only use enchanted armor or apparel. Its annoying to recharge for weapons unless you rarely use the weapons. Like I have a longbow that has 100% Weakness to Fire and does 39pts of fire damage in 3 seconds or so. I rarely use it so its great when I get bored cause of how it makes opponents go flying. ;)
Magic Proof: This is ideal to any Oblivion Gate and Aylied Ruin Adventurer. Find a Sigil Stone with 20% resist (or reflect magic, I haven't really found a reflect magic or damage sigil stone) and apply it to 3 pieces of apparel. I chose a hood, ring and shield. As for the other ring you can find the mundane ring in one of the Leyawiin or Bravil stores (the one with the high elf as the clerk), which resists magic for 50%.
Leveling Up- Remember that any minor attributes that you level up after you gain all 10pts to level up do not aid you towards the multipliers when leveling up the current level you are on. Gain all the multipliers before getting the level up symbol. Focus on 2 attributes at one time aside from luck. Always work on endurance until its at 100. Each skill that is increased increases its governing attribute's multiplier by 1/2 a point so you will need to increase ten skills governed by that attribute to get it at its max multiplier of 5x. Training also helps. Get training 5 times in one of your major skills only and level up the rest of the way with the same or other skills but remember you should get 5 times multipliers on at least to attributes and always level up luck by one point to get in to the best it can be for your character. You should be able to easily manage all this with a character like mine.

NOTE: Do not update your game with Shivering Isles until you are perfectly ready! Till you do not need to duplicate anymore or no longer need money and you have all your stats at 100 and you completed the Dark Brotherhood.

Duplication without Shivering Isles Patch:
- Equip arrows equal to the amount of the item you want to duplicate
- Exit menu
- Attack with weapon and enter menu before the attack ends
- Click A on the arrows you equiped (only click arrows once)
- Click X, to drop, item you want to duplicate
- Exit menu and pick up items

Duplication with Shivering Isles Patch:
- Go to Shivering Isles
- Equip scrolls equal to the amount of the item you want to duplicate
- Click A on scrolls once after they are already equipped
- Click X, to drop, on item you want to duplicate
- Exit Menu and pick up items

Items that can not be duplicated without Shivering Isles patch:
- Nirnroot
- Deadric Armor and Weapons
- Aylied Statues
- Shadowbanish Wine
- Glass Armor and Weapons
- Imperial Dragon Armor
- Filled Black Soul Gems
- Certain rare items attainable in quests
- Black Bows (not completely sure about this)
- Deadric Quest Items (Ex: Azura's Star, Skeleton Key, Spellbreaker Shield)

Items that can not be duplicated with Shivering Isles patch:
- Nirnroot
- Aylied Statues
- Shadowbanish Wine
- Imperial Dragon Armor
- Filled Black Soul Gems
- Certain rare items attainable in quests
- Black Bows (not completely sure about this)
- Deadric Quest Items (Ex: Azura's Star, Skeleton Key, Spellbreaker Shield)

If there is something not listed that you aren't sure about then please ask me and I will add it to the lists if need be.

An idea of my character's Armor/Apparel and Weapons:
Weapons:
Deadric Longsword (unenchanted)

Perfect Amber Logbow [Zodia's Logbow- Enchanted with 100% Weakness to fire and 39pts of fire damage in around 3 seconds] (from Shivering Isles)

Arcana Hood [Resist Magic 20%]

Zodiac Cuirass [30% Chameleon]
Zodiac Gauntlets [30% Chameleon]

Easy Level ups for my character's major skills:
Armorer: Get something down to a low condition such as 0-20%. Go to a store and duplicate that item around a 100 or so times (this number is dependent on your level and remember the leveling up techniques I mentioned earlier) and repair all of those items except for one and sell all the rest. Then repeat until you are satisfied.
Blade: Go to Rosentia Golanthia's house in Leyawiin and train with the everscamps but try not to hit her.
Heavy Armor: Go to Rosentia Golanthia's house in Leyawiin and train with the everscamps. If your character is at a high level then raise the game difficulty so you don't kill the scamps in one hit. Punch all the scamps once and lower the difficulty. Let them keep hitting you while you heal yourself now and then, or all the time depending on you current character's level.
Acrobatics: Go to the Bravil Mages Guild and hand a two lefts into a storage room right across from the steps. There should be boxes piled up close to the ceiling. Jump on top of the boxes and keep jumping. You will hit the ceiling and come back down pretty quickly making you jump a lot which increases this skill faster than normal. Just keeping hitting Y as fast as you can I suppose.
Marksman: I will be honest. This is probably one of the hardest skills to level up. The best way is to get training 5 times and then focus on another skill(s) to level up with and do the training again the next level.
Security: Go to any safe place where there is a locked chest or door. Very hard locks work the best. Just keep picking each tumbler individually but do not get all the tumblers up at once because that will finish the lock and you won't be able to use it anymore. Instead, once you get to the final tumbler exit the lock and re-enter. All the tumblers will be set down again. Repeat all the steps again as needed.
Sneak: Go to the Anvil Fighters guild and enter the guild's bedroom (where everyone sleeps). This should be left of the entrance, so go behind the door and start sneaking backwards while facing the door. If you are low at sneaking take off any heavy boots.

Tell me if you have any requests for an explanation on how to level up and specific skill more easily.

I think you get the idea. Of what the game is capable of. But my advice is to SAVE A LOT so that you don't mess up and have to do the entire thing or an entire mission all over again. It got annoying for me so hopefully this can save a few people. Please ask me about anything. I pretty much have this game memorized and I know I have left out a few things, so I will add this to the first page and update it as I remember and as others remind me. I can also help you with leveling up and where you can make it easy.
YamiLink07
Yep, all the randdom loot and weapons in that game are leveled. That means it will be scaled to your level. If you want the most out of everything, I suggest getting to level 30. Oblivion Gates have great loot when you hit level 30.
Arcanum
Make sure to do the faction quests (Fighter's Guild, Dark Brotherhood, etc.) before the main quest. You get some really good loot from them.

I will never help the dark brotherhood.

I also Found Captain Kordains Saber. That thig is one handed, fast, and absorbs many attributes of the enemy it strikes. I found in in Cheydinhal. The armor and weapons shop sells it.

The only thing I want to know there is how to buy that house.
YamiLink07
The Dark Brotherhood actually has the best story.

Cheydinal, you have to go to the Count/countess in the castle and ask about the house. You may need to have more fame before you can buy it.

Thanks. I got that now. I actually started a new character based on the best major skills made for a combat based class. Those major skills include:

Armorer
Blades
Acrobatics
Heavy Armor
Marksman
Security
Sneak

The two major attributes include:
Strength and Endurance.

In half the time, my new character is at lv12.
Strength and endurance are a 80 and 84 and speed and agility are at 56 each. :yes2:

And I beat all the arena matches in less than an hour.
kage_no_shi
My character is a female dark elf with the Mage Birthsign...level 22, 100 in Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Mysticysm (I think), Alteration and good stats in several of the others...

I have 100% chameleon clothing set (nobody sees or attacks me)...

I'm Arch Mage, Listener of Dark Brotherhood (leader), Fighters Guild Master, Thieves Guild master, done some of the Daedric Quests, have all the houses...

I have Frostcrag Spire, Dunbarrow Cove (pirates den), Vile Lair, Mehrunes Razor, and Spell Tomes downloadable content...

Oh, and I've put about 120 hours into the damned game ^_^
YamiLink07
I'm like level 35 with 400 Acrobatics :) and like 240 speed. I can get on top of almost any rooftops. I have all the DLC and achievements/daedric quests done, all the houses, and over 200 hours into the game. I can't wait for the Shivering Isles to come out.

Where the hell do you find all that? I've had to resort to spamming Ghostwalk through half the game. <_<
YamiLink07
You need to use Black/Grand soul gems to enchant clothing with chameleon. The max is 20% so you need 5 pieces to enchant.

Yeah. I found that the higher you go up in levels the better stuff you get from bandits and some marauders come out. I get a lot of daedric armor and weapons that way. I am about lv 37 so far. In order to enchant you have to have access to the arcane university. You can always get a grand soul gem with a grand spirit and duplicate that a few times. :whistling:

I got a red silk robe from the mystic emporium in the market district and I use that with the complete set of daedric armor. In order to enchant a piece of armor with a spell you have to be able to cast it first. I think you know the rest. Once I get more of my stats up I shall post them.
YamiLink07
DAMN! How many hours do you have on that game? I've have it since the day it shipped, before it was supposed to be released, and you have a higher level than me.

Not many. I'll check the next time I get on, but all I do is train. I was at about level 10 or 15 before I even fought my first enemy and that was in the arena.

Like I said before the best major skills are:

Armorer
Blades
Acrobatics
Heavy Armor
Marksman
Security
Sneak

and the best attributes are strength and endurance.
If you follow that then your levels fly if you know what to do. Strategy is your best friend in this game.

Oh yeah. all my attributes are at level 100 now except for personality and luck.
YamiLink07
I got to level 30 before my first Oblivion gate and then didn't train anymore. I just used the infinite effect glitch to get up to 400 acrobatics. My speed without fortifications is 110. But its at like 240 right now. At like 440, if you jump straight up, you take damage when you come down, thats the only reason I didn't make it any higher. And the leveled items max out at level 30, so you can go and get whatever you want now.

Well it doesn't matter how strong you are when all you need is stealth. ;)
So did you make it so that you can't use a lot of items anymore?

Welp, gotta go beat the dark brotherhood missions now. So far I have gotten all of the bonuses. :yes2:
YamiLink07
No, I can use items, I just shoudn't equip anything that will raise my acrobatics or I will end up dying. But I didn't raise my strength that much, I should put on reflect damage 100% and reflect magicka 100%.

Why in the flip did this say that I was the last one to post when you where?
:dunno:

Anyways.....Can you say,"Purification!!!" and "Bouty level = 1000"

Dam*

I know that I may have over 5000000 gold, but come on!! I hate being the bad guy. As soon as I get to Sithis I am going to kill him for making me kill innocent people.

Anyways. I now am at level 39 and I just completed all of Lucian Lachances missions and the rest of the Dark Brotherhood missions. I found that all my playing hours are now at 50 hours.
YamiLink07
"I am an Imperial Assassin born under the Shadow sign."
An imperial assassin who doesn't like being in the assassin's guild...

Anyways
Thats definitely a low time. Now you should do the mages/thieves/fighters guilds. Or you can go do the Daedric Quests, with those weapons it will make the game much easier/fun/idk. I can help you if you need it. Let me tell you right now to go to Vindesel right outside the imperial city (just follow the road and you'll find it) and kill Umbra to get the sword named Umbra.

Already found Umbra.
Finished all the mages, fighters, dark brotherhood, and arena mission and am now at the part where I have to wait for the argonian in the arcane university to uncover the secrets of the books.

Where do I get my completed staff?

EDIT: Yay!! Level 41!!!
YamiLink07
Did you give the wood to the guy? If so, you have to have waited 24 hrs since then and then check the cupboard in that room and the staff will be in there. Although there will be much better staffs to find along the way. Such as the one you get for finsihing the mages guildquests, and the ones for the Daedric shrines.

I completed all the quests but my dad came in and scared me so I couldn't hear where the guy put it. lol

Thanks.

I wonder what I should do on it now. What of the thieves guild. I have been waiting to join.
YamiLink07
Commit some kind of crime and get caught, best just to steal, then go to jail. When you get out, you will eventually be confronted by someone.

Dam* Figured
Well I am in and so far I am at bandit rank, but the only thing that is slowing me down is all the stupid Oblivion gates. I run into one every minute and that is no exaggeration!!

The lady that was supposed to help you find lady Caro or what not was killed by one of the daedra, so I had to figure out the rest of the mission on my own. lol

I also found the skeleton key man. That thing rocks!!
YamiLink07
The skeleton key is the most useful thing IMO. I was so happy when I got that. You don't have to close every Oblivion Gate, I think only 3 are needed to finish the MQ, but they have some good items in there. I only closed 6 on my 2nd game.

I can't help it. I have a really big habit of helping the innocent and feeling guilty if I don't. :(
YamiLink07
Well, once you beat the Main Quest oyu won't have to worry about it.
Arcanum
Anybody getting Shivering Isles tomorrow? Looks awesome :)
YamiLink07
As soon as Xbox Live is back up, I'll get it.
Arcanum
If you don't have Shivering Isles, don't buy it. They found a game-killing bug which affects all versions. <_<

Yeah, I heard that on another forum...Primarily a prob with PC versions, in which there is a patch available...360 versions might see a problem eventually, but no doubt, there will be a patch to fix that problem, eventually ^_^;;

But it is a somewhat serious problem 0_o
Arcanum
Some 360 users on another forum have been running into the symptoms. Everyone is affected unfortunately, it just seems faster for pc users.

Here's the problem (could be slightly wrong): each time an enemy or item spawns, it gets a formID. They run on some sort of timer which adds a certain # of ids per second. Normally, this isn't a problem, but SI greatly increases the rate. So, what would normally add approx. 1.6 per sec now adds over 50 per sec. As time goes on, the formIDs add up until at about 150 hours, it screws up the code, rendering the game virtually unplayable.

Theoretically, it could happen anyway in the normal game, but it would take an extremely long time. I had over 400 hours logged before SI and saw no problems. Then again, I've heard a few complaints from people with 800 or more.
kage_no_shi
Yeah, currently, I'm not at risk probalby, because I don't have Shivering Isles, and only have about 140 hours as it is...

I plan to get shivering Isles...eventually -_-
YamiLink07
I bought Shivering Isles, but my Oblivion has a crack in the disc anyways, so I can't play it.
kage_no_shi
Awwww, poor Yami V_V

Doesn't Microsoft replace disks free of charge, or for like $5 bucks or something?
YamiLink07
I don't know, that would be good for me. :) I'll check right now.
kage_no_shi
Good idea ^_^

I hope that the service is real...I thougt it was 0_o Mighta been sony though -_-
YamiLink07
Well, I sent an email. I'll just have to wait and see.
kage_no_shi
Yeah...

Did X-Box.com or whatever, have some section for disk replacement? Perhaps in their FAQ section?
YamiLink07
They did, but it didn't have Oblivion listed under the replaceable disks.
kage_no_shi
Oh, I see...

It might only apply to First party games??

If so, that sucks -_- Why don't you try checking with Bethesda if thats the case?
YamiLink07
Sure seems that way.

Shivering Isles patch due for release tomorrow

Alright, I can finally play again! :woot:
YamiLink07
I played and beat SI in 8 hours with no problem
Arcanum
Yeah, the main quest in SI is rather short. I have a lot more quests in the main game to do though.
General Zero
And by the way. I have done the entire story twice and all of the fighters, mages, dark brotherhood, arena, etc....blah blah blah...and I am like level 53 and all my stats are at the max with a suit that grants me 120% chameleon effect.

I don't need speed. lol or to cheat using glitches. :p
YamiLink07
I didn't need to, I wanted to see how high I could jump and eventually jump anywhere. But above 400 you hurt yourself if you jump straight up. :(
