When I go to install the drivers for my gamesaves, the installation doesn't work. It either doesn't detect the drivers on the cd rom or when I tell it the exact location of the drivers, it says that the XShark.inf file "does not contain information about my hardware." Am I missing something? I mean, the drivers weren't in the folder that the instructions said they would be (:wtf2:), and they don't seem to work..

Thanks in advance for any help.

This document is to assist customers having difficulty with their PC’s detecting the memory unit that you are using with a Mad Catz GameSaves device. In most cases, the Windows operating system has installed incorrect drivers to the USB cable, and the customer will need to reinstall these drivers from the PC installation disc they received with the GameSaves product.

1. Completely remove the Gamesaves program from the PC and reinstall the software. This can be done using the “Add or Remove Programs” selection within the “Control Panel”. Do not have the memory card or the USB cable plugged in during the installation process.

2. After the program has been reinstalled, plug in the card along with the USB cable into a USB port on the PC. If the "Install Wizard" shows up on the screen, immediately close this window and proceed to step 4.

3. Run the Gamesaves program from the shortcut on your desktop. Try transferring a game save file from the PC to the card. If the file successfully transfers, the reinstall properly fixed your driver issue. If you get a message that says the memory card is full, you will need to close out the Gamesaves program and proceed to step 4.

4. On your desktop, you will find an icon called "My Computer". Right click onto this icon and select "Properties". The next window to appear will be the "System Properties". Depending on the Windows operating system you are using, you might be able to select the “Device Manager” option right away. If not, select the tab labeled "Hardware" and then select the "Device Manager" on the screen.

If you do not have the “My Computer” icon on your desktop, click on the “Start Tab” of the lower left corner on the desktop, move to “Settings” with the mouse, and select “Control Panel”. Under the “Control Panel” window, choose the icon called “System” to access the “Device Manager”.

5. Under the "Device Manager" screen, you will see a list of all the devices installed on the PC. Because the drivers for the USB cable are not properly installed, you should see either a (?) or (!) symbol on this list, most likely under the Universal Serial Bus controllers list. Double click onto this symbol, select the driver tab from the top of the window and click on update drive.

6. You will get to a screen that will ask where you wish to find the drivers to install. Choose to "Install from a list or specific location". Then choose "Include this location in this search" and click the "Browse" option.

7. A list should now appear showing all of the directories on your computer. Find the directory of your CD drive, and make sure the Gamesaves disc is inside the drive. This directory should be called Gamesaves, and when you expand the CD drive list (do this by left clicking the [+] box next to it), you should be able to find a folder called "Drivers". Highlight "Drivers" and click "OK" on the bottom of the window.

8. The Install Wizard should then begin to install these drivers to the Gamesaves program. If you get a message that says that Windows has not verified the drivers you are installing, choose to continue with the installation. The drivers from the Gamesaves disc will not harm any of the programs you currently have or the PC.

9. Once the Wizard has finished the installation, close it out and run the Gamesaves program once more. You should now be able to successfully transfer saves from either the Internet database or the PC into the memory card unit.

Downloading Saves directly.

Here is a way to bypass having to login using your Gamesaves program thus avoiding login errors.

Have your Gamesaves program closed when you do this.

Go to http://www.gameshark.com/ and on the left side of the screen under “Channels”, click on the system you are downloading saves for – Xbox or Gamecube
On the next screen that comes up, click on Gamesaves under the section you have chosen.
On the next screen that comes up, use the alphabetical list to locate the game you want to download a save for.
Choose the save you want to use for that game and click the “Download” link.
A box will pop up on your screen giving you the options to open, save, cancel, or more info.
Choose “Save”
Now you must put this file in the appropriate folder on your PC. First, point the file to your hard drive – usually Local Disc (C:) or the name of the manufacturer of your PC
Double click the Program Files folder in your (C:) drive so it opens.
Find the Fire International folder and double click on it
Within Fire Int. you will see a Gamesaves folder – Xbox or Gamecube. Open this folder.
Within the Gamesaves folder, you will see a folder titled “Saves” Open this folder.
You will now see all of your Gamesaves.
Choose “Save” in the lower right corner of the pop up box and wait until you see “Download Complete”
Close the pop up box.
