Pokemon Heartgold & Soulsilver Are these games supported?

I'm having the same trouble, I can't get Heart Gold or Soul Silver to save.
I found that same cartridges of the other Pokemon DS games will save and some cartridges don't. Why don't they all save? Are there any patches to help?

I have had no luck getting the gameshark DS to work with Pokemon Heart Gold to back-up my save. has anyone been able to do this or is there going to be a patch?
Does not work for me either with HeartGold. "Although a card is inserted, a backup could not be found. Please refer to the manual for more information." Of course, the manual (which I downloaded from this site) is information-less.
Based on how they have not come out with updates so these things work with modern Windows versions, I doubt they will fix this. But I suppose there is always hope.

I'm unable to offer any ETA on whether or not a patch will be available, unfortunately; however, this should come as no surprise as Nintendo places protections on these titles especially to prevent proper back up or copying of the game saves. They don't limit this practice to the DS console, those familiar with the Gamecube and GBA releases should have a good idea on their record with these. It makes any attempt to copy them difficult to near impossible and updates to backup software are not always guaranteed to be effective especially since titles are occasionally modified after their initial release into the market

What happened with your copy of diamond?
I ended up losing my copy of diamond and the ds it was in before I could get the patch. I had to start from scratch on a new file (and also pay for a new ds and copy of diamond.) A backup of my save from then would have saved me a lot of frustration, as I have a bunch of rare pokemon in my copy of ranch I'm no longer able to retrieve, which even with something like a save editor, you'd need to have the same game, name, gender, Trainer and secret trainer numbers to get pokemon from ranch. With a backup, it would have been as simple as plugging in the new cart and going to get them.
