Let me start this off by saying that I have a real, solid Gameboy Advance, and Game, no computer software or downloaded games.

I've had this Gameboy Advance Gameshark a while now, and it seldom has any serious problems but a notable one occured just recently, I bought a copy of Final Fantasy VI Advance, and when I used it with the Gameshark, the title screen for the game came up as a psychedelic version of what I assume to be the sequence before the title screen and shortly after pressing New Game, where the people in the robot suits are walking in the snow, and the beginning credits appear closer to the top of the screen, this I can determine because of the colors' motion, it moves forward what seems to be a step then stops, and repeats, resembling the walking sequence.

In an attempt to skip the scene, I pressed A, but the title screen never appeared.
I then turned the game off, and started it without the Gameshark inserted, every file on there was deleted, and this is definitely a result of the Gameshark because I started a new game and saved it, then tried again with the Gameshark to the same effect.

This cannot be a result of codes, because I tried again later not only with no codes on, but also with the switch on the side off.

I don't blame anyone for the problem, but I would like to get it resolved as soon as possible so I can use the Gameshark.

Thank you in advance for any help that can be offered.

You need to have an already saved game without using the game shark!

That means that you insert the game cart (in this case the FF5 advance) inserted into your Nintendo unit (GBA, GBASP, GBAMicro,DS or DSLite). Start a brad new game. Then play it till you are able to "SAVE" your game. Make sure that it is a save point and NOT A QUICK SAVE! At that point you should turn off your unit! Make sure you over write any and all existing game saves you have!

In doing this it makes sure that you have a good save point!

Now that you have all your good game saves turn off your unit. Remove the game cart. Insert the Game Shark into your Nintendo Unit. Insert the game cart into the other end! Making sure the the only switch on the Game Shark is turn on you can turn on your Nintendo unit. Wait for the Cheat Screen to pop up and check for the following:

Check each code for errors! EACH digit/letter needs to be 100% correct.

Also check for the following:
  • A four is not an "a"
  • An "a" is not a four
  • An eight is not a "b"
  • A "b" is not an eight!

All these tend to look alike!

If a code has more than 1 line then you need to have all the lines! Check to make sure that every line has 12 digits/letter! Each line needs to have 12 digits/letter! If it does not then your product is not made by MadCatz Inc. and we are unable to offer you any support for it since we at game shark do not offer any support for anything that does not belong to the current owner (that being MadCatz Inc.)!

Now play your game with your game shark inserted and only enabling no more than 5 codes!

Does the same thing you describe happen after you have played the game the way I described it to you?

I have this game and have never had any problems like you described!

I appreciate your help and I will try some of these things, but it occured even when the gameshark was turned off, as long as it was in my Gameboy Advance with the game it still did it.

On a lesser note, I have Final Fantasy 6 Advance, not 5.

I should also note that I do believe I have a Gameshark SP version 1.2.

It doesn't matter what game you have since I have all the Final Fantsy for the Nintendo line (this includes all games from the original NES to DSi). The same thing applies when cheating while using the MadCatz Game Shark SP product. It doesn't matter what version yours is since all the different MadCatz GameShark SP uses the same cheat engine and codes!

Should this problem happen even after you do as I have stated (that means somehow the programing in the your MadCatz Game Shark SP has been corrupted) then the only way to fix it is to re-flash it! You will meed a error free/damage free MadCatz GameShark SP to copy onto yours. For more info on how to re-flash it please read the following: http://www.madcatz.c...?Action=Q&ID=83

If your unable to locate one then you can try calling Technical Support to see what they are able to do for you! You may need the original sale receipt as proof of purchase! I think you may still be able to mail it in for repair. But I am not sure since I no longer know if they still offer it! This is the only way you can fix this error!

Additional notes: You should not have to enable no more than 5 codes at once since it is pointless to enable more than that to get things done (at least that is what I have found since cheating via MadCatz GameShark SP).
