#1 - No Spamming
The GameShark Boards are not to be used as a marketing tool for your web sites or products. This applies not only to individuals but also to commercial spamming.

#2 - Use Your Head
There is absolutely no reason to verbally attack another user (aka flaming), an idea or a product (aka bashing). It's fine to disagree, but taking it to the extreme is a no-no.
Any defamatory posts made against Mad Catz, Inc., GameShark, GameShark.com or its representatives may result in an immediate ban or temporary account disablement.
#3 - No Profanity
If you absolutely must use profanity, censor the ENTIRE word with asteriks. ('g***' would not be enough, if there was a four-letter expletive beginning with a 'g'). Those found to have intentionally bypassed the Profanity Filter will face account suspension.
#4 - No Piracy
No forms of piracy will be tolerated. ROMs, Emulators, MP3s, Warez, whatever. This applies not only to games but to music, videos, and all other media that are copyrighted by an entity other than yourself.
#5 - No Mod-Chips or Warez
While we understand that some people use them solely for the purpose of playing imports and we respect that, far too many people use mod-chips to play illegally copied games. Because of this, the discussion of mod-chips is not permitted.
#6 - No Copyrighted Material
You may not post copyrighted material unless you are the owner of the copyright or you have obtained written permission from the copyright holder. (And no, you cannot post IGN Insider articles here.)
#7 - No Online Cheating
You want to ruin the online game experience for someone else? Go ahead. But this isn't the place to distribute your (possibly illegal) codes and cheats for online games. There will be zero tolerance for people asking for or distributing online game cheats on this site. Offenders will be banned without warning and all posts on the subject will be deleted. No exceptions whatsoever.
#8 - No Threats
Do not threaten another member in any manner.
#9 - No Porn or Strong Sexual Content
This includes links to adult web sites and/or posting content that may not be suitable for younger viewers.
#10 - Code Request Threads
Do not post a thread wherein you will supply codes to those that ask for them. If you wish to help others find codes from the Offical Gameshark site, simply reply when they make topics to find such codes. Posting such a thread without someone asking for codes first is SPAM, and will be treated as such.
#11 - All Codes
GameShark only allows Official GameShark codes to be posted. If a code is not an Official GameShark code, GameShark cannot guarantee it's quality, and the code may be infringing upon copyright law. Do not post codes for GameShark2 below version 3, they are subject to copyrights by another company. By GameShark not allowing codes that aren't Officially from GameShark, it is protecting you, the consumer, from faulty codes and itself from legal action. Please respect this rule. Violators will be dealt with. Creating tutorials on how to make codes is also not permitted, as it encourages the posting of unofficial codes.
#12 - Age Requirement
The Federal Trade Commission's Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) requires that Web Sites are to obtain parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children under 13. If you are below 13 then you can NOT use this forum. Do NOT register if you are below the age of 13.
#13 - Ban Circumvention
If you are banned, there is a reason for it. By large, bans are not permanent. If you have a question about your ban (eg. how long is it, what is it for), or wish to plead your case you may do so by replying to the 'Account Suspended' e-mail notification you'll receive.
If a user is found to have circumvented his/her ban or attempted to circumvent his/her ban, said user will be have the new name(s) banned as well.
#14 - Signature Image and Avatar Size Limit
The current Signature Image Size Limit is; 300x125
300 pixels in width by 125 in height and no more than 60kb. Avatars are automatically resized to 80x80 pixels, with a file size limit of 30kb. Signature images and avatars must not exceed the imposed size limit.
You may have two images providing the dimensions do not exceed the 300x125 border and the combined file size must not exceed 60kb.
