Damaged slot A Can I play games using Slot B?

My Gamecube slot A is damaged. I think my little boy dropped the console. Can I use slot B to play games? I have tried to choose B in the set up and it keeps saying there is nothing in slot A. I know that B is for copying. Thanks!

Some games will let you use Slot B, but most will look for Slot A.

you can go to local game store like EBgames and i think you can exchange you Gamecube for a new one

that is the only solution i can think of ;)
