I'm currently looking into buying a gameshark. I have a PS2 slim and a game that I am specifically looking to use the gameshark with. The game is Digimon World 1, a PS1 game. I have heard that the PS2 gameshark has limited compatibility with PS1 games and I was wondering what product I should be looking for. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

PS2 GameSharks cannot be used on PS1 games. You will need a GameShark specifically for the PS1 for PS1 games.

Currently there are no MadCatz Game Shark Cheat/GameSave device that is made to work on any PS1 games. You will have to search out the InterAct Game Shark, I think your stuck with buying it via EBay or some other online store. Also you WILL need a Sony Play Station that can play PS1 games, tho even that is a guess since the InterAct gameshark is not supported here. Nor do we know anything about it! In short your on your own! This goes for research! My suggestion is you try google search or whatever kind of internet search engine you think is best! More Info: The MadCatz Game Shark cheat device was NEVER designed to work on PS1 games! It was only made for PS2 games! We only offer support (this also applies to talks about it) for the MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 3 and above. If you want unofficial codes then I suggest you try google search! If your lost on the numbers it goes like this (from oldest to newest): MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 3 MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 4 MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 5 Broadband enabled or Media Edition MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 1 BroadBand enabled Please note that this is only according to what I know, so this maybe incomplete but it is as complete as I can make it! I think there maybe a MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 2 Broadbaned enabled out but that is only a guess since I have not gotten my hands on any of the latest ones! In terms of cheat engine: The MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 3 and 4 are the same. The MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 5 to the MadCatz Game Shark 2 Version 1.1 Broadband enabled are also the same. After that it is different! So in short if you have the latest ones it is not the same engine as any of the other versions! Thus we come to the following: If you want to cheat then play ONLY Sony Play Station 2 games in a Play Station 2 system! If you want to cheat while playing Play Station 1 games on a Play Station 2 system your on your own!
